– (1976) – A girl who’s humiliated by her peers gradually exploits her telekinetic powers. A story of this sort could easily fall victim to silliness, but everything remains stimulating since the powers are kept to a minimum — until the epic finale. Convincing characters and great acting carry the weight of the dark plot.
