Son of Frankenstein

★★½☆ – (1939) – A scientist learns that his father’s living-dead creation is nearly alive and well. Begins with a heavy dose of spooky atmosphere before gradually building into an engaging drama with wonderfully drawn characters and moments of genuine humor. Slows considerably in the final third, but leaves a lasting impression thanks to Bela Lugosi as the hysterically deranged Igor.
