Prince of Darkness

★★½☆ – (1987) – Scientists research the liquefied manifestation of Satan in a church. Though heavy on character conversations, the atmosphere is sullen, the creep factor abundant, and the conclusion moderately chilling. The premise is more intriguing than the output, however, as most events are too slow and illogical to consider this one of Carpenter’s best.
